Getting Here from O’Hare International Airport (ORD)
Driving from ORD
If you’re renting a car at ORD, just hop on I-90E (the Kennedy, as it's known locally) to N. Racine Avenue. From there you’ll take Exit 50A to our address at 1622 W. Jackson Blvd. We’ll see you in about a half an hour. If you're driving during rush hour, expect to add an additional half hour to your travel time.
Uber and Lyft at O'Hare Airport
Riders requesting uberX, uberXL, and UberSELECT should meet their driver upstairs on the departures level in the Rideshare Pickup Zone. If you want an UberBLACK, you’ll meet your driver downstairs at Arrivals.
UberX Fare: $29.00 – $37.00
If you prefer Lyft, open the app to find your pickup zone. You’ll be directed to Departures at the Domestic Terminal and Arrivals at the International Terminal.
Lyft Fare: Around $30.00
Hailing a Cab at ORD
Taxi Stands are located at the lower level curb front right outside baggage claim at each terminal. All fares are based on traffic conditions.

Taking the Blue Line
If you’re coming to Hotel Chicago West Loop from ORD, you’ll grab the Blue Line. To get to it, follow the signs marked with the El train logo. While it’s about an eight-minute walk through the airport, you can always catch a moving pedway. Once at the Blue Line train terminal, buy a Ventra card from a kiosk (they take cash and credit) keeping in mind that a ride from O’Hare is $5.00 rather than the standard $2.50.
Take the train to the Illinois Medical District stop. Head up the ramp, take Van Buren towards Ogden Ave, and veer left on Ogden. Take a right on Jackson and you'll see the hotel on your left after a block. The train ride will take about 50 minutes and the half-mile walk to the hotel will take about ten minutes.
Fare: $5.00 for the Blue Line plus $0.25 for the transfer
Getting Here from Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW)
Driving from MDW
From Midway, get on 55N (aka the Stevenson) to Exit 290. We’re only nine miles away, so it should take you about 25 minutes. During rush hour, your travel time will be closer to 40 or 45 minutes.
Uber and Lyft at Midway Airport
When you’re ready to walk outside, request your Uber. You’ll meet your driver downstairs on the arrivals level (near baggage claim). Exit through Door 4, cross the street, and your driver will pick you up in the center lane.
UberX Fare: $21.00 - $26.00
Getting a Lyft is just as easy. After you grab your bags, open the app and select your pickup zone. You’ll be directed to Departures, Door 1.
Lyft Fare: Around $22.00
Hailing a Cab at MDW
Taxi stands are available by the curb on the lower level of the terminals. Taxis are first come, first serve with fares based on traffic conditions.

Taking the Orange Line
If you’re heading to Hotel Chicago West Loop from MDW and want to take the El, just hop on the Orange Line which picks up just outside the airport. Follow the signs to the platform, get your Ventra card from a convenient, automated kiosk, and hop on a Loop-bound train.
From there, you’ll get off at the Clark/Lake stop, head downstairs to the subway (no transfer required), and jump on the Blue Line towards Forest Park. Get off the Blue Line at Illinois Medical District, walk eastbound on Van Buren, and turn left on Ogden. Take a right on Jackson and you'll see the hotel on your left after a block.
Chicago Transportation Tips
The El Train
Once you check-in to your room, walking around trendy West Loop is the best way to see the neighborhood's galleries, eat your way through restaurant row, or catch an event at the United Center. We’re a short walk from all of it, but if you want to visit downtown, the museum campus, or the city's great neighborhoods, we’re also close to the Medical District & Racine Blue Line stops and the Morgan Green Line stop. CTA trains run every 12 minutes (more frequently during rush hours) and can take you wherever you need to go.
All El stations have Ventra kiosks, where you can use cash or credit to purchase single ride, one-day, three-day, and seven-day CTA cards. Your Ventra card will work on all El trains and buses.
Divvy Bike share
Is pedaling around the city more your style? You’re in luck! We’re only two blocks from a Divvy Bike share station (at Loomis & Ashland). Buy a 24-hour pass for $9.95 and you’ll get unlimited 30-minute rides. Pedal your way to the lakefront and enjoy the sights of Chicago along the way!
